ERP Vendor Selection Services
Collegiate Project Services will help your institution select the ERP software product that best matches the needs of your institution. We have developed a “best practices” ERP selection process that is rigorous, involves the appropriate campus stakeholders,
is easily and quickly implemented, and is designed to produce a consensus decision among key campus constituents.
Our Approach
Our approach to selecting an ERP system is based on the
steps listed below:
- Follow a professional project management process to carry out the project.
- Form a steering team of five to eight key university functional and technical personnel who will guide the selection process and ultimately make the decision.
- Use a modern collaborative software tool (DecisionDirector©, from Advantiv) to rapidly develop product specifications with wide input from functional users across campus.
- Use a Request for Information (RFI) to reduce the number of final vendors to two or three.
- Use the output from the collaborative decision tool to develop the RFP that is sent to the finalists from the RFI
.
- Schedule campus visits to sites to observe actual usage of the
desired ERP solution software packages.
- Construct scripted vendor demonstrations based on the collaborative decision-making tool results.
- Use a weighted decision making approach to rate and evaluate vendors in order to make the final decision.
DecisionDirector
Collegiate Project Services is an approved user of the DecisionDirector tool from Advantiv. We use this tool to help our clients quickly reach consensus on product specifications while at the same time involving a wide number of stakeholders.
In addition we use the output from this tool to help write the RFP specifications.
Through the use of Advantiv’s KnowledgePacks©, we can help the institution quickly carry out a fit-gap analysis to determine which ERP provider
best fits the university’s needs.
